Chuanfei Guo A/Prof.

Dr. Guo CF is now appointed as associate professor by department of Material Science and Engineering (MSE) of South University of Science and Technology of China (SUSTC). He received his bachelor degree on material science and engineering in Huazhong University of Science and Technology, 2006. In 2011, he was conferred the doctor's degree on condensed matter physics in National Center of Nanoscience and Technology, China (NCNST). From 2011 to 2013, Dr. Guo finished his postdoctoral fellow work in Boston College. In the years of 2013 to 2016, Dr. Guo worked in University of Houston as Research Associate. He was selected into the 12th Recruitment Program for Young Professionals of Thousand Talents program and joined SUSTC in 2016 spring. The research fields are mainly focused on flexible electronics, micro/nano fabrication, the growth and properties of nanomaterial, etc. Dr. Guo has published more than 60 articles on famous academic journals, including Nature Communications, PNAS, JACS, Advanced Materials, Nano Letters. He has applied 15 patents and acquired 10 granted invention patents in the countries of China, USA and Japan. He co-authored an academic monograph written in English. His research progress on flexible transparent electrodes has been widely reported by New York Times, Xinhua News Agency, Science Daily, Materials Today and Physics Today.

The research fields of GUO CF Group mainly focus on micro/nano fabrication based on thin-film material and attached applications, including:


1. Super- stretchable electronics and implantable electronics
Fabrication of super- stretchable transparent electrodes;
Fabrication and property research of stretchable optoelectronic device, energy storage components and electronic skins;
Manufacture of biocompatible and flexible electrodes;
Implantable electronic devices and sensors.


2. Unconventional nanofabrication
By means of bionics techniques, mask-free technique and strain induced nanofabrication methods, large-scale, low-cost and high-precision nano structures are manufactured to cut the cost and improve efficiency during fabrication.


3. Nanostructured thin films and corresponding application in environment and energy fields.
Design novel nanostructures to fabricate high efficiency energy material and devices;
Design surface layer of functional thin film to develop self-cleaning material.
